Frequently Asked Questions
If you are a conditional permanent resident, with a 2 year Green Card, you must file a petition to remove conditions within 90 days before your Green Card expires, or you will lose your permanent resident status. A family-based conditional permanent resident must file a Form I-751 with supporting documents. If you are an investor/entrepreneur-based conditional permanent resident, you must file a Form I-829 with supporting documents.
In the event a family-based conditional permanent resident is divorced before the 2 year anniversary, that divorced conditional permanent resident can file Form I-751 any time before the 2 year expiration date.
